Rate My Medical Training is a platform built by doctors, for doctors. Our mission is to empower trainees across the UK by giving them the opportunity to share honest feedback about their rotations.
Whether you’re an FY1 preparing for your first job or a registrar planning your next training move, our community-driven reviews aim to help you make informed decisions based on real experiences from your peers.
FAQs
🔍 Who can submit a rating?
Any doctor currently in training in the UK is welcome to submit a rating. This includes foundation doctors (F1 and F2), core trainees, internal medicine trainees, and specialty registrars across all grades and specialties.
We believe every training post has something valuable to share — good or bad — and your feedback helps inform and empower other trainees making decisions about their placements.
💷 Is the site free to use?
Yes – the site is completely free to use. Doctors can browse, submit, and read reviews at no cost. Our aim is to foster transparency and support doctors in making informed decisions about their experiences across NHS departments.
In future, we may introduce optional premium features – such as advanced filtering, personalised insights, or aggregated reports – to further enhance the platform. If we do, the core functionality of reading and submitting reviews will remain free and accessible to all users.
Any changes will be clearly communicated in advance.
✍️ How often can I leave a rating?
You’re encouraged to submit a rating at the end of every rotation you complete. This helps keep the information current and reflective of real-time experiences.
There’s no limit — if you've worked in multiple specialties, grades, or hospitals, you're welcome to rate each one individually. The more reviews we collect, the more useful and representative the platform becomes for trainees across the UK.
🤝 Is Rate My Medical Training affiliated with the NHS or any deanery?
No. Rate My Medical Training is an independent platform created by doctors to support transparency and peer-to-peer feedback.
We are not affiliated with the NHS, Health Education England (HEE), or any postgraduate medical deanery.
💬 Why can't I leave a written comment?
To protect trainee anonymity and prevent the risk of identifying individuals or specific incidents, we currently do not allow written comments.
Instead, we focus on structured ratings to provide consistent, comparable feedback across rotations.
This helps keep the platform safe, fair, and useful for everyone.
